« The exhibition “Metropolitan Anthony: A Life in Photos” opened in London »

On August 4, 2024,  an exhibition “Metropolitan Anthony: A Life in Photos”, dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birth and the 21st anniversary of the repose of Metropolitan Anthony (Bloom), opened in the rotunda of Brompton Cemetery in London.
This is the second thematic exhibition, which collected rare photographs from the life of Metropolitan Anthony from his earliest childhood until the time of his death.
After the panikhida at the grave of the ever-memorable hierarch, the exhibition opened in the rotunda of the cemetery. His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh addressed those present with a welcoming speech. Vladyka drew attention to the life path of the founder of the Diocese of Sourozh, his spiritual labours in the field of Gospel preaching and their significance not only for Orthodox believers living in the British Isles, but also among Christians around the world.
The exhibition coordinator, Yana Reznik, spoke about the artistic concept of the exhibition, outlining the main stages of the biography of Metropolitan Anthony.
After the official speeches, a festive concert program was held, which included: "Prelude from Cello Suite No1" by Johann Sebastian Bach performed by John McSweeney (violin) and "A familiar song" performed by Maria Sheppard (vocals, guitar).
The choir ensemble of the Dormition Cathedral in London, conducted by Anna Kobrina, performed a number of pieces of Russian sacred music.
From August 5, the exhibition has been open for viewing in the premises of the Dormition Cathedral in London.
