On August 14, 2024, on the day of the celebration of the Procession of the Honorable Wood of the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, the Feast of the All-Merciful Savior and the Most Holy Mother of God, as well as the day of remembrance of the seven Maccabean martyrs, their mother Solomonia and their teacher Eleazar, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in London.

His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Dean of the Diocesan District of South-East England Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Dean of the Diocesan District of South-West England Archpriest Joseph Skinner, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, clergy of the UOC temporarily residing in the territory of the Diocese of Sourozh and Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.

The liturgical chants were performed by the choir of the Dormition Cathedral under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.

After the prayer behind the ambo, Bishop Matthew and the clergy venerated the Holy and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord. Then a water-blessing moleben and the blessing of honey took place.

In conclusion, the Archpastor addressed those present with words of sermon and spiritual edification.  Simultaneous translation into English was provided by Archdeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
