On July 25, 2024, the parish of St. Ephraim the Syrian in Cambridge remembered the first anniversary of the death of the Rector of the parish, Archpriest Raphael Armour.
The Divine Liturgy was headed by the Dean of the diocesan district of South West England, Rector of the parish of St. Ephraim the Syrian, Archpriest Joseph Skinner, co-celebrated by Dean of the diocesan district of Central England, Archpriest Stephen Platt, acting Dean of the East Anglia Diocesan District Priest Evgeny Selensky and Deacon Cosmas Frateanu, a cleric of the parish.
The liturgical hymns were performed by the parish choir under the direction of Anna Pechenyuk.
The divine service was attended by the family and friends of Archpriest Raphael Armour, his spiritual children and numerous parishioners. The service was attended by Rector of the Anglican Church of St. Clement, Vicar Andrew Day and the churchwarden Barry Johnson.
Words of condolence and support were sent to the parish by the founder and first Rector of the Cambridge parish, Archpriest John Gillions (OCA), the clergy and faithful of the Diocese of Sourozh.
After the Liturgy, a panikhida was served at the grave of Father Raphael, after which a memorial meal was held, where the clergy and the faithful were able to share their memories of the deceased pastor.
