On October 25, 2020, on the 20th Sunday after Pentecost, memory of the Holy Fathers of the VII Ecumenical Council (787), His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Grace was assisted by the Secretary of the Sourozh diocese, Priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, and Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
At the augmented litany, petitions were raised to get rid of the spread of the harmful epidemic - coronavirus infection. Then His Grace Vladyka offered up a prayer, which is read during the spread of a harmful epidemic.
At the end of the Liturgy, Vladyka Matthew congratulated the clergy and parishioners of the Cathedral with the feast and addressed them with a word of edification.
The service was broadcast live on the diocesan page Life of Sourozh on the social network Facebook. After the Divine Liturgy, the Cathedral was open for visiting parishioners and individual prayer.
Divine Liturgy with participation of parishioners is celebrated every Saturday and Sunday. Due to the need to comply with Government's rules on leaving the quarantine, those wishing to take part in the Liturgy should familiarize themselves with the Rules for visiting the church.
