« The annual pilgrimage to the revered copy of the icon of the Mother of God "Troeruchitsa" took place in the Serbian church in Birmingham »

On February 22, 2025, on Ecumenical Parental Saturday, with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh and His Grace Bishop Nektarije of London, Great Britain and Ireland (Serbian Orthodox Church), the annual pilgrimage to the revered copy of the icon of the Holy Mother of God "Troeruchitsa" took place in the Serbian Church of St. Prince Lazar in Birmingham.

About two hundred believers from various parishes of the Sourozh diocese took part in the pilgrimage.

Before the start of the festive service, a panikhida was served.

During the Divine Liturgy, Rector of the Church of the Holy Prince Lazarus, Archpriest-Stavrophor Nenad Popović, was assisted by clergy of the Sourozh Diocese: Archpriest Mikhail Gogoleff, Priest Anatoly Vikhrov, Protodeacon Philip Turner and Deacon Sergei Sokolovsky. Archpriest Gregory Butler prayed in the altar of the church. Priest Jonathan Cowley, a cleric of the Archdiocese of Western European Parishes of the Russian Tradition, also took part in the service.

At the end of the Liturgy, a moleben with akathist singing was held in front of the revered copy of the icon of the Holy Mother of God "Troeruchitsa", brought to the church from Mount Athos in 2019.

Then the clergy, pilgrims and parishioners of the church took part in a common meal.
