Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, temporary Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the United States of America, sent a message to the President of that country, Donald Trump, expressing deep condolences in connection with the plane crash that occurred on January 29, 2025, in the vicinity of Washington (District of Columbia), which happened following the collision of a helicopter and a passenger plane approaching for landing.
The clergy and laity of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA with great sorrow receieved news of the plane crash in Washington, DC. Please accept our deepest and most sincere condolences in connection with the tragedy that claimed the lives of many people,” the message says.
Bishop Matthew emphasized: “We pray to the God who lovest Mankind, for the repose of the victims and the consolation of all those grieving over the untimely death of their loved ones, as well as for the granting of spiritual and physical strength to all participants in the search and rescue operation.”
