On the evening of March 8, on the eve of the Ecumenical Parental (meat-free) Saturday, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated an evening divine service at the Dormition Cathedral in London.

Concelebrating with His Grace were Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Secretary of the Sourozh Diocese, Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, and Priest Nikita Kozlov.

The liturgical chants were performed by the chamber choir of the Cathedral under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.

According to the statutory tradition, the Right Reverend Vladyka and the concelebrating clergy read the 17th Kathisma of the Psalter by the Prophet David in the center of the church, in front of the funeral table (tetrapod). In the litanies for the departed “all Orthodox Christians who have departed from the ages” were commemorated.
