« On the 45th anniversary of the repose of Metropolitan Nikodim (Rotov) of Leningrad and Novgorod, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh served a panikhida at the Dormition Cathedral in London »

On September 5, 2023, on the 45th anniversary of the repose of Metropolitan Nikodim (Rotov), His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, temporary Administrator of the Patriarchal parishes in the USA and Canada, served a panikhida for the ever-memorable hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
Parishioners and employees of the Cathedral prayed during the service.
At the end of the panikhida, Bishop Matthew addressed those present with a word about Metropolitan Nikodim.
Bishop Matthew also addressed the message to the clergy and parishioners of the Patriarchal parishes in the USA and Canada. His Grace emphasized that “Orthodox believers in America today with love and gratitude, prayerfully honor the memory of all those who labored for the sake of Holy Orthodoxy on American soil” and that "the Church remembers that it was only by the efforts of the ever-memorable Metropolitan Nikodim that a new page was written in the history of Orthodoxy in the New World during a difficult period in history. Vladyka-Exarch made incredible efforts to restore the divinely commanded unity of the Holy Church on the North American continent, at the same time becoming the founder and first administrator of new ecclesiastical jurisdictions - the Patriarchal Parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate in the USA, Canada and Mexico".
