On Sunday, September 10, 2023, Sunday school students of the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Oxford made a trip to the capital of Great Britain, where they visited an exhibition dedicated to the Shroud of Turin in the Anglican Church of All Saints, located in London's Notting Hill.
The Dean of the diocesan district of Central England, Rector of the Oxford parish, Archpriest Stephen Platt, conducted an introductory excursion for the students, talking about the Gospel story of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, the history of the Shroud of Turin, its scientific research by various scientists from around the world, testifying not only to the crucifixion of the Savior, but also about His resurrection.
The exhibition features a full-size copy of the Shroud of Turin, exhibits of early Christian history, and photographs.
In the 21st century, the Shroud of Turin was put on display three times - in 2000, 2010 and 2015. The Shroud of Turin was previously made available to the public in 1900, 1933, 1978 and 1998.
Since 1984, the Shroud of Turin has been the property of the Holy See.
