« Believers of the Diocese of Sourozh venerated the relics of British saints »

On June 25, 2023, on the feast of All Saints who shone forth in the land of Britain and Ireland, with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, a group of believers from various parishes of the Diocese of Sourozh visited the Catholic oratory of St. Aloysius in Oxford.  In this place, a shrine with particles of the holy relics of the early Christian Saints of God, who laboured in the British Isles before the division of the Church in the 11th century, is kept.
According to historical evidence, during the Reformation in England in the 16th century, the relics were moved to safekeeping in continental Europe and returned to Britain in the 19th century.
Dean of the diocesan district of Central England, Rector of the church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Oxford, Archpriest Stephen Platt, served a moleben, after which the pilgrims were able to venerate the relics of the Saints of the undivided Church.
