On the evening of April 13, 2023, on the eve of Friday of Holy Week, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated Great Friday Matins with the reading of the 12 Gospels of the Holy Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ, at the Dormition Cathedral in London.

His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Dean of the Diocesan District of South East England Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Priest Vasily Gandzyuk and Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.

Good Friday hymns were performed by the choir of the cathedral under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.

At the end of Matins, those present in the cathedral venerated the Cross of the Lord.
