On August 26, 2021, on the day of the leavetaking of the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the divine Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Grace was assisted by Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh, Dean of the diocesan district of Northern England and Wales priest Dimitri Nedostupenko, archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Dean of the diocesan district of South-East England archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Dean of the diocesan district of Eastern England archpriest Raphael Armour, Dean of the diocesan district of Central England archpriest Stephan Platt, Dean of the diocesan district of South-West England archpriest Joseph Skinner, abbot Daniel (Davis), archpriest Timothy Curtis, protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch and deacon Victor Nikiforov.
The liturgical hymns were sung by the Cathedral Choir under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
At the small entrance, Dean of the diocesan district of East Anglia, Rector of the parish of St.  Ephraim the Syrian in Cambridge, archpriest Raphael Armor, in view of his zealous pastoral work, was awarded the patriarchal liturgical award of the Russian Orthodox Church - the right to wear a pectoral cross with decoration.
At the end of the divine service, the Archpastor addressed the clergy and parishioners of the Cathedral with words of a sermon and spiritual edification.
Vladyka Matthew warmly greeted archpriest Timothy Curtishe, cleric of the Archdiocese of the Western European parishes of the Russian tradition, Rector of the church of St. Ann in Northampton, and expressed gratitude for his visit and joint prayers during the Divine Liturgy.  The Archpastor noted that he was glad to re-admit, after a long break, abbot Deiniol (Davies), Rector of the Intercession Church in Blaenau Ffestiniog, to the ranks of the clergy of the Sourozh diocese, and wished Father Deiniol God's help in the further development of the Orthodox mission in Wales.
On this day, the cleric of the Dormition Cathedral, Rector of St. Peter and St. Paul parish in Swindon and of the parish of St. King Edward at Wimborne archpriest Maxim Nikolsky celebrates his namesake day.  His Grace Vladyka congratulated Father Maxim on his namesake day and handed him a bouquet of flowers.
The Liturgy was broadcast live on the diocesan page Life of Sourozh on the social network Facebook.
After the meal, an extended meeting of the Diocesan Council of the Sourozh Diocese took place
under the chairmanship of His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh.
