On October 27, 2021, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, temporary Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA and Canada, visited the Russian Embassy in Ottawa, where he met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Canada O.V. Stepanov.

Vladyka Matthew spoke about the state of affairs in the parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church in various provinces of Canada.  During the conversation, the parties discussed the interaction of the Patriarchal Parishes in Canada with the Russian diplomatic mission in matters of spiritual support for compatriots living in North America, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
