On October 24, 2021, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, while in Great Britain on a private visit, visited the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Oxford.Metropolitan Hilarion was met in the church by the Rector, Dean of the Diocesan District of Central England, archpriest Stephen Platt.
On the same day, Head of the DECR visited Metropolitan Kallistos of Diokleia (Patriarchate of Constantinople), who was the scientific leader of Vladyka Hilarion when he was studying at Oxford University.
