On October 14, 2021, on the feast of the Intercession of the Most Holy Mother of God and Ever-Virgin Mary, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Grace was assisted by archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Dean of the Diocesan District of South-East England archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Dean of the Diocesan District of South-West England archpriest Joseph Skinner, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh priest Dimitry Nedostupudenko, archpriest Nicolae Prescura and protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
The liturgical hymns were performed by the chamber choir of the Cathedral under the direction of the choir master Dmitry Tugarinov.
At the small entrance, the Rector of the parish of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in London, archpriest Nicolae Prescura, in view of his zealous pastoral work, was awarded the Patriarchal liturgical award of the Russian Orthodox Church - the right to wear a palitsa.
In the altar of the church, Vladyka Matthew congratulated subdeacon Gennady Ivanov with his birthday, celebrated the day before, and presented him with memorable gifts.
At the end of the service, the Archpastor addressed the clergy and parishioners of the Cathedral with words of a sermon and spiritual edification.
The Liturgy was broadcast live on the diocesan page Life of Sourozh on the social network Facebook.
