On July 28, 2020, on the day of remembrance of the Equal to the Apostles Great Prince Vladimir, the day of the church-state feast of the Baptism of Rus, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Grace was assisted by the acting Dean of the Diocesan District of the South-East of England, Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk and Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
At the Liturgy, parishioners aged 70 and older, who are part of the official risk group approved by government authorities in connection with quarantine measures to combat the coronavirus epidemic, prayed and received the Holy Mysteries of Christ
At the end of the service, Vladyka Matthew congratulated the parishioners and clergy of the Cathedral with the feast day and addressed them with a sermon.
The divine service was broadcast live on the diocesan page Life of Sourozh on the social network Facebook.
Due to the need to comply with the rules of social distancing in churches, registration for the service was made in advance by e-mail and by phone.
An announcement for the next worship service for parishioners at risk will be posted on the diocesan website.
Following the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to ring the bells with the theme "Glory to Thee, God", on July 28, in all churches of the Russian Orthodox Church, which became a tradition over the past eight years to celebrate the Day of the Baptism of Russia,  the bell ringing was also performed at the Dormition Cathedral.
