On May 24, 2020, on the 6th Sunday after the Easter, Sunday of the Blind Man, day of memory of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Methodius and Cyril, teachers of Slavs, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in the city of London.
His Grace was assisted by acting Dean of the Diocesan District of the South-East of England Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk and Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
This is a day of celebration of Slavic writing and culture and the Angel day of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. At the end of the service, the Archpastor, together with co-serving clergy, sung glorification in front of the icon of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Methodius and Cyril. Protodeacon Vadim proclaimed many years to His Holiness the Patriarch, after which Vladyka Matthew delivered a sermon with words of preaching and spiritual edification.
The service was broadcasted live on the diocesan page Life of Sourozh on the social network Facebook.
Due to the state quarantine measures to combat the coronavirus epidemic, churches of the Diocese of Sourozh, including the Dormition Cathedral in the city of London, are closed for visits until a special order from the authorities.
