« On Good Friday, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated Vespers with the rite of the Shroud of the Savior »

On April 17, 2020, on Good Friday, day of remembrance of the Holy salvatory Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh served the Royal Hours, typica, vespers with  the rite of the Shroud of the Savior and small compline at the Dormition Cathedral in the city of London.
His Grace was assisted by acting Dean of the Diocesan District of the South-East of England, Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, and Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
At the end of the vespers, the Holy Shroud with the image of the burial of Christ was transferred from the altar to the ambon of the church.
Following the service, the Right Reverend Vladyka delivered a sermon.
The service was broadcasted live on the diocesan page Life of Sourozh on the social network Facebook.

Due to the state quarantine measures to combat the coronavirus epidemic, churches of the Diocese of Sourozh, including the Dormition Cathedral in the city of London, are closed for visits until a special order from the authorities.
