According to the definition of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church of January 30, 1991, based on the decision of the Local Council of 1917-1918, prayers are annually offered during divine services “for the repose of Archpastors, priests, monks and nuns, and lay people who suffered and were killed for their faith and truth during the years of hard times and persecution of the Church of Christ in our country in the past centuries, who died from diseases, famine and cold in prisons and camps”.
At the end of the service, the oldest cleric of the Cathedral, Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, on behalf of the Rector, clergy and parishioners of the Cathedral, congratulated priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh and Sacristan of the Dormition Cathedral, with his birthday.
