« Cleric of the Sourozh diocese took part in the III International Scientific and Practical Conference "The Orthodox View of the Modern World: Problems and Prospects" »

 
On October 5-6, 2020, the III International Scientific and Practical Conference "Orthodox View of the Modern World: Problems and Prospects" was held at the Tambov Theological Seminary.
With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, Archpriest George Zavershinsky, Dean of the Diocesan District of Scotland and Northern Ireland, took part in the conference remotely.  At the plenary session, Father George made a presentation on the topic "Principle of personality as a basis for the theology of dialogue."
According to the website of the Tambov Metropolia, representatives of spiritual educational and secular institutions from Belarus, Ukraine, the USA, Great Britain, Germany, as well as from a number of Russian cities - Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vologda, Kaluga, Novokuznetsk, Michurinsk and Tambov took part in the conference.  The scientific conference for representatives of educational institutions of the city, non-residents and foreign participants was held remotely usinf Zoom platform.
An illustrated booklet about the Tambov Theological Seminary was presented within the framework of a grant project of the Study Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund.
At the conference, reports were made by:
- Archbishop Viktor of Artsyz, vicar Bishop of the Odessa diocese - “Issue of normalizing prayful and liturgical life during a pandemic”;
- V.A.  Martinovich, Doctor of Theology at the University of Vienna, Ph.D. in Sociology, Chairman of the Synodal Center for Sectarian Studies named after St. Joseph Volotskiy of the Belarusian Exarchate - "System of Non-Traditional Religiousness";
- Archpriest Rostislav Snigirev, Doctor of Theology, Professor, Assistant to the Rector for Work with Foreign Students of the Kiev Theological Academy - "Teaching on the New Testament Pastorship in Modern Protestant Churches";
- M.V.  Shkarovsky, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of St. Petersburg Theological Academy - "Fight for the Alexander Nevsky Lavra and the preservation of the veneration of the holy Prince Alexander Nevsky in the Soviet period";
- P.M. Kon, PhD in Theology, Associate Professor of the Department of Church Practical Disciplines of the Moscow Theological Academy - "Conceptual-terminological and methodological problems in Russian sectarian studies in a historical retrospective";
- Archpriest Georgy Zavershinsky, Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Theology, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Member of the Writers' Union of Russia, Dean of the Parishes of Scotland and Northern Ireland of the Diocese of Sourozh - “ Principle of Personality as a Basis for the Theology of Dialogue ”;

- Abbot Dionisy (Shlenov), PhD in Theology, Professor of the Moscow Theological Academy, Director of the Library of the Moscow Theological Academy - "Exegesis of the verse" the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom "(Proverbs 1.7) in the Greek patristic tradition";
- Archpriest Dionisy Nalitov, Master in History, Bachelor of Theology, Rector of the Church of the Holy Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon in Hartford, Eastern American Diocese - “Metropolitan Anastassy (Gribanovsky) (1873-1965), first Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia”.
