On October 4, 2020, on the 17th Sunday after Pentecost, the leave of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Life-giving Cross of the Lord, the uncovering of the relics of St. Dimitry, Metropolitan of Rostov (1752), His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Grace was assisted by Priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Sourozh Diocese.
During the augmented litany, the Most Reverend Vladyka offered up a prayer, which is read during the spread of the harmful epidemic.
In the altar of the cathedral, Vadim Polishchuk, in consideration of his hard work for the Church, was honored by the Archpastor with the right to wear a cassock.
At the end of the Liturgy, Vladyka Matthew congratulated the clergy and parishioners of the Cathedral with the feast and addressed them with a word of edification.
This day marks 22 years of the priesthood of the Most Reverend Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, who temporarily directs the Patriarchal parishes in the USA and Canada.  Priest Dimitry Nedostupenko delivered a congratulatory speech and, on behalf of the clergy and parishioners, wished to Vladyka many years of good health, especially noting the Archpastor's blessed apostolic labors on the establishment of Orthodoxy in Great Britain, Ireland and the North American continent.
The service was broadcast live on the diocesan page Life of Sourozh on the social network Facebook.
After the Divine Liturgy, the Cathedral was opened for visiting parishioners and individual prayer.
Divine Liturgy with participation of parishioners is celebrated every Saturday and Sunday.  In connection with the need to comply with government rules for leaving quarantine, those wishing to take part in the Liturgy should read the Rules for visiting the church.
