On January 19, 2020, on the feast of the Baptism of the Lord, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy and headed the great blessing of water at the Dormition Cathedral in the city of London.
His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch and Deacon Anthony Ivashin.
Liturgical chants were sung by the choir of the Cathedral under the direction of M.V. Bezmenova.
After the prayer before the ambon, Vladyka and the clergy performed a great blessing of water, after which the Archpastor and priests sprinkled the numerous parishioners, present on this festive day in the Cathedral, with holy water.
At the end of the service, Vladyka Matthew addressed those present in the Cathedral with a word of preaching and spiritual edification.
Taking into  account many years of work for the benefit of the Church of Christ, subdeacon Anthony Zakharov and Ivan Gordienko, members of the Diocesan Trust (Trustees) and of the Trust of the Dormition Cathedral, were awarded with the Patriarchal medal "In memory of the 100th anniversary of the restoration of the Patriarchate in the Russian Orthodox Church."
