On May 11, 2019, on Saturday of the 2nd Week after Easter, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, temporarily Administrator  of the patriarchal parishes in the USA and Canada, visited the Intercession parish of Ottawa, Canada, with an archpastoral visit.
During the Divine Liturgy, His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Serge Rasskazovsky, Rector of the Patriarchal Metochion of St. Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, in the city of Toronto, clerics of the Canadian Diocese of the Orthodox Church in America.
After the Liturgy, Vladyka served a Panikhida and offered up his prayers for the repose of the soul of the recently departed Archpriest Dimitry Sever, Rector of the Ottawa parish. After the Panikhida, Vladyka Matthew addressed the congregation with words of condolences on the death of Fr.  Dimitry, wishing to the shepherd on the 40th day of his death, that the merciful Lord would take him to the best abodes in His Kingdom.
After the service, Vladyka continued communication with the congregation at a meal organized by the parishioners.
