At midnight on January 7, 2019, on the feast of the Nativity of Christ, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in the city of London.
His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Archpriest Joseph Skinner, Dean of the Diocesan District of the South-West of England, Priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh, Priest Sergiy Fedorenko and Protodeacon Vadim Santsvitch.
Liturgical chants were sung by the choir of the Cathedral under the direction of M.V. Bezmenova.
Following the after-Communion verse, the Patriarchal Christmas Message was announced in both Russian and English.
After the prayer before the amvon, the Most Reverend Archpastor and the serving clergy sung glorification of the feast of the Nativity of Christ.
At the end of the service, Vladyka Matthew congratulated the clergy and parishioners with the bright feast of Christmas and addressed the believers with the word of edification.
