« On the feast of the heavenly patron of the Sourozh Diocese, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Liturgy at the London Cathedral »

On December 28, 2018, on the day of St. Stephen the Confessor, Archbishop of Surozh, patron saint of the Diocese of Sourozh, His Grace Bishop Matthew celebrated Divine Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in the city of London.
His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Joseph Skinner, Dean of the Diocesan District of South-West England, Priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Sourozh Diocese, and Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
At the end of the Liturgy, the Right Reverend Vladyka and the serving clergy sung glorification in front of the icon of St. Stephen with a particle of his holy relics. After that, the Archpastor addressed those present with a words of spiritual edification.
On this day, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrates the anniversary of his archpastoral ministry in Great Britain and Ireland. Highly appreciating merits of Vladyka at the Sourozh Diocese over the past year, Priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, diocesan Secretary, addressed the Archpastor with a congratulatory word. Father Dimitri in particular stressed that church life in the diocese was developing tirelessly, new priests and deacons were ordained, Orthodox flock multiplied, social, missionary and educational activities were actively carried on. The high confidence in Vladyka from His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, who earlier this year decided to appoint Vladyka Matthew as  Temporary Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the United States and Canada, was particularly noted.
As a sign of appreciation and gratitude for fatherly care and archpastoral activities, Fr. Dimitry, on behalf of the clergy and parishioners, presented a bouquet of flowers to Vladyka Matthew.
