« On the feast of the Baptism of the Lord, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Liturgy at the Cathedral of London »

On January 19, 2019, on the feast of the Baptism of the Lord, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy and led the Great Consecration of water at the Dormition Cathedral in the city of London.

His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Nikolai Preskure, Priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh, Priest Sergei Fedorenko, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch, Deacon Anthony Ivashin and Deacon Victor Nikiforov.

The liturgical chants were sung by the Cathedral choir under the direction of M.V. Bezmenova.

During the Liturgy, a special prayer for peace in Ukraine and for the unity of the Orthodox Church was offered. Immediately upon completion of the Liturgy, the Right Reverend Vladyka led the service of the Great Consecration of water.

After the service, Vladyka Matthew addressed the clergy and numerous parishioners of the Cathedral with sermon and words of spiritual edification.
