« On the day of the feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh led the Liturgy at the Cathedral of London »

On August 28, 2018, the day of the feast of the Dormition  of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the patronal feast day of the church, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh led the Divine Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in the city of London.

His Eminence was assisted by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Archpriest Mikhail Nasonov, Dean of the Diocesan District of the parishes in the Republic of Ireland, Archpriest Adrian Michalaki, Archpriest Nikolai Preskura, Priest Alexander Visan, Priest Nikolai Evseev, Priest Anatoly Vikhrov, Deacon Vladimir Castravet and Deacon Victor Nikiforov.

During the Liturgy, the Most Reverend Vladyka ordained deacon John Kazadoyev to the rank of presbyter, he will carry out pastoral ministry in the parishes of the Diocesan District of the Republic of Ireland.

Liturgical chants were sung by the choir of the Cathedral under the direction of Marina Bezmenova.

Sermon before the Holy Communion was delivered by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky.

After the Divine Liturgy, a procession took place on the square in front of the Dormition Cathedral.

At the end of the service, the Right Reverend Archpastor congratulated all those present on the occasion of the feast and addressed everybody with a word of edification.

Vladyka Matthew warmly congratulated Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky with his recently celebrated name's day and offered him a bouquet of flowers on behalf of the Cathedral's clergy and congregation. 
Addressing the newly-ordained Father Ioann with archpastoral word, Vladyka wished him and all those, who attended the feast,  heavenly intercession of the Mother of God, as well as spiritual and physical strength.
