On December 23, 2018, on the 30th  Sunday after Pentecost, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh visited the Church of St. Nicholas in Oxford with an archpastoral visit and led the Divine Liturgy.
His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Stephen Platt, Dean of the Diocesan District of Central England and Rector of the church, Priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch and Deacon Alexiy Kostyanovsky.
The liturgical chants were sung by the parish choir directed by Anna Platt.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Right Reverend Bishop and the serving clergy sung magnificat in front of the icon of St. Nicholas.
Vladyka Matthew congratulated everyone with the recent temple feast and addressed the believers with a word of edification. In turn, Father Stephen warmly thanked Vladyka for the visit and the opportunity to celebrate the Divine Liturgy togetherr with  the Archpastor and presented a memorable gift to Vladyka.
Talks continued during the lunch, organised by the parish community of Oxford.
