November 9 is a year since the passing away of Alexandra Ivanovna Smirnova-Rakovich, the oldest parishioner of the Dormition Cathedral in London.

The panikhida at the Brompton cemetery was served by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, cleric of the Cathedral. The memory service was attended by parishioners of the Church, who for many years knew the deceased personally.

The funds,  collected by parishioners to help relatives and friends of Alexandra Ivanovna, were donated by relatives to the church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the village of Polonka, Brest Region, where priest Ioann Smirnov, father of A.I. Smirnova-Rakovich, served as a priest and rector  and where Alexandra Ivanovna spent her childhood years.
