July 30, Archbishop Elisey and archpriest Alexander Gorbunov attended a reception hosted by a prominent British politician and economist, the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, member of Parliament Vincent Cable in association with Bishop Angelos, the general bishop of the Coptic Church in the United Kingdom. The reception was held in the House of Commons, Westminster, and was organized to celebrate the positive decision of the European Court of Human Rights, which has protected British citizen Nadi Eweida, fired by British Airways for wearing a cross. At the reception were discussed the problems of persecutions of Christians in the Middle East (Syria and Egypt) and the protection of freedom of the confession of Christian faith in Europe.
