« On Victory Day, Archbishop Elisey laid a wreath at the Soviet war memorial »

On 9th May, Victory Day, the traditional wreath-laying ceremony took place at the Soviet war memorial in London. The ceremony was attended by Russian Ambassador to Britain, A V Yakovenko, the ambassadors of the CIS countries, representatives of the British authorities, members of the veteran and social organizations and guests from Russia.
Archbishop Elisey of Sourozh laid a wreath at the memorial on behalf of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The ceremony was also attended by the Sacristan of the Cathedral of the Diocese of Sourozh, Archpriest Mikhail Dudko, the Churchwarden, Tatiana Nosova, the head of the Diocesan Department of Social Work, Anton Zakharov, together with parishioners of the Cathedral.
