« Annual Reception of the Anglican and Eastern Churches Association takes place in London »

On 17 October, the annual reception of the Anglican and Eastern Churches Association took place at Faith House in London. With the blessing of Archbishop Elisey of Sourozh, the Russian Orthodox Church in Great Britain and Ireland was represented at the reception by the Sacristan of the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God in London, Archpriest Mikhail Dudko.

The guests were welcomed on behalf of the Church of England by the chairman of the Association, Dr William Taylor. Presentations on the current situation of Christians in Syria and Egypt were made by the Ambassador of Syria to the United Kingdom, Dr Sami, Khiyami, and Bishop Angaelos (General Bishop of the Coptic Church Centre in Great Britain).

The AECA was founded in 1864 and is one of the oldest inter-Christian oraganisations in England. It operates under the patronage of Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople and the Archbishop of Canterbusry, Dr Rowan Williams.
