« The celebration of the Synaxis of the Saints who shone forth from the Land of Britain and Ireland took place at the Cathedral of the Dormition in London »

On 13th June, Sunday of All Saints who shone forth from the Land of Britain and Ireland, with the blessing of Archbishop Elisey of Sourozh, the Divine Liturgy and the Vigil on the eve of the feast were celebrated in English at the Cathedral of the Dormition in London.

The decision to bless the celebration of the Synaxis of the Saints who shone forth from the Land of Britain and Ireland on the third Sunday after Pentecost had been made by the Holy Synod in 2007 (Journal 49). The members of the Synod decreed that decisions about the introduction of some names of the British and Irish saints of the undivided Church into the menology of the Russian Orthodox Church should be made after the Church had complete hagiographical and historical data about their Christian endeavour, as well as the time and circumstances of their glorification and veneration.
