On Saturday the 15th of August Bishop Elisey of Sourozh arrived to the parish of St. Ephraim the Syrian in Cambridge with parts of the Holy Relics of the Righteous Martyrs Grand Duchess Elizabeth and Nun Barbara. A Divine Liturgy was celebrated.

In his sermon Bishop Elisey of Sourozh appealed to congregation to follow the example of the righteous martyrs in their aim for sanctitude, acts of mercy and self-sacrifice. He has also stressed that due to her royal origin, conversion to Orthodox faith and special feelings towards Russia Grand Duchess Elizabeth is seen as a spiritual link, uniting Christians of the Great Britain and Russia. By the example of her own life she demonstrated the possibility to unite in the Church people of various ethnic and social backgrounds.
