On the evening of August 27, 2024, on the eve of the feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the all-night vigil at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Grace was assisted by Dean of the Diocesan District of South-East England Archpriest Vitaly Polischuk, Secretary of the Sourozh Diocese Archpriest Dmitry Nedostupenko, clergy of the UOC temporarily residing in the territory of the Sourozh Diocese, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch, Protodeacon Ioan Sîlnic and Deacon Alexander Kapustin.
The liturgical hymns were performed by the Cathedral Choir under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
During the evening service, Bishop Matthew served the litiya with the blessing of bread, wheat, wine and oil.
During the Matins, at the polyeleos, the shroud with the image of the Dormition of the Mother of God was brought out of the altar.
After reading the Gospel, the Right Reverend Archpastor anointed the clergy and worshipers with consecrated oil.
