« The annual pilgrimage to the tomb of St. John of Beverley »

On Saturday 1 June 2024, a group of pilgrims from the parishes of the diocesan district of Northern England made the annual pilgrimage to Beverley, to the resting place of St John of Beverley (+721).
The pilgrimage was led by Priest Anatoly Vikhrov, Rector of the parishes of St. Xenia of St.Petersburg in Leeds, of the Presentation of the Lord in Bradford, of Equal-to-the-Apostles St.Constantine and St.Helen in York, and of the Nativity of Christ in Kingston-upon-Hull.
In the small English town of Beverley, which is located between York and Hull, there is a majestic monastery church. In the very center of this church, the relics of St. John of Beverley rest hidden. With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the ancient church, during which the pilgrims were able to partake of the Holy Mysteries of Christ.
Liturgical chants were performed by singers from the Church of the Intercession in Manchester.
After the Liturgy, a religious procession and a moleben took place.  The water for the consecration was taken from a source located in a small well located in the central altar of the church, to the right of the altar.
At the end of the divine service, Priest Anatoly addressed the pilgrims with words of greeting and gratitude for participating in the pilgrimage to the tomb of one of the most revered saints of the undivided Church in England.
The fraternal communication of the pilgrims continued at a common meal.
