« A meeting of Orthodox youth was held in the Dormition Cathedral in London »

On December 6, 2024, with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, a joint meeting of Orthodox youth of the Sourozh Diocese, of the London and Western European Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, and of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of the British Isles and Ireland was held in the Dormition Cathedral in London.
Young people from the London cathedrals of the three dioceses took part in the evening service in the main church of the Sourozh Diocese. At the end of the service, on behalf of His Grace Bishop Matthew, Secretary of the Sourozh Diocese, Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, addressed the meeting participants, conveying the blessing of His Grace and wishing the meeting participants fruitful and joyful communication with each other.
Then, a meeting of young people with the clergy took place in the cathedral hall. The topic of the conversation was “Spiritual warfare and daily practices.” On behalf of the Sourozh Diocese, Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky took part in the meeting. The London and Western European Diocese of the ROCOR was represented by Hieromonk Theodore (Stanway), and the British and Irish Archdiocese of the Antiochian Patriarchate was represented by Priest Boniface Carroll. Young people were able to ask questions that concern modern Orthodox youth and that arise in the everyday life of a Christian, and to share their personal spiritual experience. The participants noted the positive experience of mutual communication and unanimously expressed their wishes to hold joint events in the future.
The meeting ended with tea.
