« Bishop Matthew of Sourozh meets with Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco & Western America »

On December 21, 2024, as part of his ongoing visit to the West Coast, a meeting was held between Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, Interim Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the United States & Canada, and Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco & Western America.

During the fraternal conversation, the hierarchs touched upon a wide range of issues concerning the interaction of the clergy of the Russian Church Abroad and the Patriarchal Parishes in the United States. In particular, they discussed plans for holding joint services and commemorative events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the repose of St. Patriarch Tikhon in San Francisco, the first see of the Russian Church in the USA.

The meeting was also attended by the Secretary of the Western American Diocese, Hieromonk Peter (Karakozoff), and the dean of St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in San Francisco, Priest Mikhail Kozyrev. At the end of the meeting, the archpastors exchanged memorable gifts and congratulated each other on the upcoming feasts of the Nativity of Christ and Epiphany.
