On the evening of January 14, 2024, while on Archpastoral visit to the diocesan district of Northern England, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh visited the Chase Heys rehabilitation center in Southport, where he met with churchwarden of the Manchester Intercession Church Marianna Emma Anna-Mariae Greenan, who is undergoing treatment in the centre.

In recognition of her many years of work for the benefit of the Russian Orthodox Church, Bishop Matthew presented Marianna Greenan with a high Patriarchal award - Order of Venerable Euphrosyne, Grand Duchess of Moscow, 3rd degree. The clergy accompanying the Bishop sang “axia” (“worthy”) and many years to Marianna.

During the meeting, Bishop Matthew discussed various issues of church and parish life with M. Greenan and wished her a speedy recovery.
