On the evening of August 27, 2023, on the eve of the feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated an all-night vigil at the Dormition Cathedral in London.His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Dean of the Diocesan District of South-East England Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Dean of the Diocesan District of South-West England Archpriest Joseph Skinner, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, clergymen of the UOC temporarily staying on the territory of the Diocese of Sourozh, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch, Deacon Ion Silnic, Deacon Alexy Kostyanovsky and Deacon Victor Nikiforov.
Liturgical hymns were performed by the choir of the Cathedral under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
On the polyeleos, a shroud depicting the Dormition of the Mother of God was taken out of the altar. After reading the Gospel, Vladyka Matthew anointed the clergy and parishioners with consecrated oil.
During the all-night vigil, the Archpastor honored Vitaly Korobtsov, the church bell-ringer and volunteer, with the right to wear a stikhar during divine services.
