« Bishop Matthew of Sourozh performed the funeral service for Archpriest Raphael Armor »

On August 18, 2023, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy and performed the funeral service for Archpriest Raphael Armour in the parish of St. Ephraim the Syrian in Cambridge.

Archpriest Raphael Armour, Dean of the Diocesan District of East Anglia, Rector of the parish of St. Ephraim the Syrian in Cambridge, passed away to the Lord at the age of 77, on July 25, 2023.

At the divine services His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh, Archpriest Dragos Herescu (Romanian Patriarchate), and clergy of the Diocese of Sourozh.

The diaconal rank was headed by Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.

The liturgical chants were performed by the parish choir, conducted by Anna Pechenyuk.

After the augmented litany, His Grace Vladyka proclaimed a prayer for the granting of peace in English.

Before the funeral service, the Archpastor addressed those present with a word of spiritual edification and expressed his condolences to the parishioners, relatives and friends of the late Father Raphael.
