On May 17, 2023, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, temporary Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA and Canada, began his archpastoral visit to North America.On May 18, upon arrival in Montreal, the largest city in the province of Quebec, His Grace Vladyka visited St. Andrews Cemetery in the suburbs of Montreal - town Upper Melbourne, where he prayed at the graves of famous Russian historical figures who ended their earthly journey in exile and were buried on Canadian soil. The Archpastor served a brief memorial service at the grave of Count Paul N. Ignatieff (1870-1945), the penultimate Education Minister of the Russian Empire.
On the trip, His Grace Vladyka is accompanied by his personal secretary N.V. Trubnikov.
