« On the Patronal Feast of the Church of the Three Hierarchs in Paris, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh concelebrated at the Divine Liturgy to the Patriarchal Exarch, Metropolitan Nestor of Korsun and Western Europe »

On February 12, 2023, the Sunday of the prodigal son, the day of remembrance of the ecumenical teachers St. Basil the Great, St. Gregory the Theologian and St. John Chrysostom, celebrations were held on the occasion of the patronal feast of the Three Saints Church in Paris.

The Divine Liturgy was officiated by Patriarchal Exarch of Western Europe, Metropolitan Nestor of Korsun and Western Europe. Bishops of the Western European Exarchate, who arrived in Paris to attend a meeting of the Synod of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Western Europe, concelebrated the Liturgy with Vladyka Exarch - Archbishop Simon of Brussels and Belgium, Archbishop Elisey of The Hague and the Netherlands, and Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, temporary Administrator of the Patriarchal parishes in the USA and Canada, as well as Archpriest Nikolai Rebinder, Rector of the church, Archimandrite Martin (de Caflisch), Dean of the parishes of the diocese in Switzerland, Priest Jean-Denis Rano, Rector of the Church of the Holy Archangel Gabriel in Martinique, clergy of the Three Hierarchs church.

Liturgical chants were performed by the choir of the Three Hierarchs church under the direction of A. Rebinder, and the "Russian Orthodox Singers" male choir under the direction of S. Rebinder.

The liturgy was celebrated in Church Slavonic and French.

Following the prayer behind the ambo, Metropolitan Nestor, Archpastors and concelebrating clergy performed the rite of glorification to the heavenly patrons of the church.  Then, the Patriarchal Exarch addressed those gathered in the church with an archpastoral sermon, in which, in particular, he warmly greeted the fellow bishops and congratulated the Rector, clergy and parishioners of the church on their patronal feast.

At the end of the celebrations, the hierarchs, clergy and laity shared a festive meal,  the website of the Korsun diocese reports.
