On November 4, 2023, on the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Most Holy Mother of God, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Liturgy in the diocesan community of St. Cedd of Lastingham (+664) in Southgate.

The divine service was also timed to coincide with the day of remembrance of St. Cedd, which is celebrated on November 8 (October 26).

During the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence was assisted by Archpriest Joseph Skinner, Rector of the community, hegumen Theophan Willis (Archdiocese of Western European parishes of the Russian tradition), and the cleric of the Dormition Cathedral in London, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.

After the prayer behind the ambo, the Archpastor and the concelebrating clergy performed a prayerful glorification in front of the icon of St. Cedd, after which the Archpastor addressed the parishioners with words of sermon and spiritual edification.

In memory of his visit to the community, Bishop Matthew donated the icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.
