On November 15, 2023, on the 8th anniversary of his episcopal consecration, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the early Divine Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
Concelebrating with His Grace were Dean of the diocesan district of South-East England, Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Secretary of the Sourozh diocese, Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Priest Nikita Kozlov, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch and Deacon Ioann Silnic.
At the augmented litany, special petitions were proclaimed for the wellbeing of the Right Reverend Vladyka. Fr. Dimitry read a prayer of gratitude to the Lord Jesus Christ, our God, for His blessings to Bishop Matthew, who is now being honored.
At the end of the Liturgy, Bishop Matthew thanked the concelebrating clergy, the staff of the diocesan administration and the cathedral for their joint prayers on this significant day for him.
On behalf of the clergy, monastics and laity of the Sourozh diocese, the Secretary of the diocese, Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko addressed His Grace with a congratulatory word. Father Dimitry warmly congratulated Vladyka Matthew on the 8th anniversary of his hierarchal consecration and presented him with a holy prosphora and a bouquet of white roses. Then Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch proclaimed many years to the Archpastor.
