On October 24, 2023, the celebration of the Council of All Saints who shone in Optina Pustyn, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in London.Concelebrating with His Grace were Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Dean of the Diocesan District of South-East England, Priest Nikita Kozlov and Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
Liturgical chants were performed by the Cathedral Choir under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
At the end of the Liturgy, the Archpastor addressed those present with words of sermon and spiritual edification.
On this day, 8 years ago, the monastic tonsure of Archpriest Gennady Andreev, who was elected Bishop of Skopino and Shatsk at a meeting of the Holy Synod on October 22, 2015 (Journal No. 64) took place after the All-Night Vigil at the Great Cathedral of the Donskoy Monastery.
The tonsure was performed by Hegumen Paramon, abbot of the Donskoy Monastery, now His Gcace Bishop of Gorodets and Vetluga.
