On December 25, 2022, on the 28th Sunday after Pentecost, of Holy Forefathers, the feast day of St. Spyridon, Bishop of Tremithus, Wonderworker (c. 348), His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Dean of the Diocesan District of South East England, Archpriest Vadim Zakrevsky, Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh, Archpriest Georgy Zavershinskiy, Dean of the Diocesan District of Scotland and Northern Ireland, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevich, Deacon Ioann Sylnik and Deacon Viktor Nikiforov.
Liturgical hymns were performed by the choir of the Dormition Cathedral under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
After the augmented litany, the Archpastor proclaimed a prayer for the granting of peace.
At the end of the divine service, Vladyka Matthew performed a prayerful glorification in front of the icon of St. Spyridon, congratulated the parishioners bearing his name with their Day of the Angel, and addressed those present with a word of sermon and spiritual edification.
