« Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Liturgy at the parish of Saints Equal-to-the-Appostles Constantine and Helena in York »

On December 10, 2022, the feast in honor of the icon of the Mother of God called "The Sign", His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the parish of Saints Equal-to-the-Apostles Constantine and Helena in York.

His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh, Dean of the Diocesan District of Northern England and Wales, Priest Anatoli Vihhrov, Rector of the York Parish, Priest Viktor Akhryapin, and Deacon Paul Wood.

Liturgical hymns were performed by the consolidated chamber choir of the Northern English deanery under the direction of Maximus Bryan.

After the augmented litany, the Archpastor proclaimed a prayer for the peace.

After the dismissal, Vladyka Matthew addressed the clergy and parishioners with words of sermon and spiritual edification.

Priest of the church, Fr. Anatoli, warmly greeted Vladyka and, on behalf of the parish, presented to Vladyka a bouquet of flowers and a gift . Dean Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko also addressed Vladyka with gratitude for his archpastoral visit and the joyful opportunity to participate in the Divine Liturgy together with the ruling Bishop.

At the end of the festive day, a common meal was held, arranged by the parishioners of the community.
