« Bishop Matthew of Sourozh served a panikhida on the 20th anniversary of the repose of Archbishop Evgeny (Zhdan) »

On October 11, 2022, on the 20th anniversary of the death of the ever-memorable Archbishop Evgeny (Zhdan), His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh served a panikhida at the Transfiguration Church in Bogorodskoye, Moscow.

After the funeral service, His Grace Vladyka addressed those present with a brief word, drawing attention to the fact that almost 25 years ago he was ordained by Vladyka Evgeny to the rank of clergy and emphasized the need to pray for spiritual teachers and mentors, recalling the words of the Apostle Paul: “ Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith” (Heb. 13:7).
