« Pilgrimage to Caldbeck to the spring of the Holy Hierarch Kentigern »

On Saturday, January 29, 2022, with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, clergy and parishioners of the Diocesan District of the Northern England and Wales made a pilgrimage to Caldbeck, to the spring of St. Kentigern (Mungo) of Strathclyde, Bishop of Glasgow (commemorated January 13/26).
The pilgrimage began with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy in an ancient 12th century church in honor of St. Kentigern, located near the holy spring, presumably dating from the 4th century.
The service was headed by priest Anatoly Vikhrov, Rector of pariches of St. Xenia of St. Petersburg in Leeds and of the Meeting of the Lord in Bradford, who was co-served by priest Viktor Akhryapin, cleric of the Church of the Great Martyr George the Victorious in Newcastle, and priest Nil Lyubchenko.  At the Liturgy, believers from Bradford, Kingston-upon-Hull, Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow prayed and took communion of the Holy Mysteries of Christ.
Liturgical chants were performed by church choirs from Manchester and Newcastle.
After the Liturgy, a procession was made to the spring of St. Kentigern, where a water-blessing moleben was served. After that, Father Anatoly sprinkled the worshipers with holy water and addressed those present with a sermon and words of gratitude for the joint pilgrimage.
Communication between the clergy and parishioners continued at a common meal organized by the pilgrims.
